The Lifelong Practice of Yoga & Lifelong Wellness

Yoga quells the fluctuations of the mind, according to Patanjali's Yoga Sutra. In other words, it slows down the mental loops of frustration, regret, anger, fear, and desire that can cause stress. And since stress is implicated in so many health problems it can cause dis-ease—from migraines and insomnia to lupus, MS, fibromyalgia, eczema, high blood pressure, and heart attacks if you learn to quiet your mind, you'll be likely to live longer and healthier. An added perk: we are also improving our strength, balance, and toning muscles that you even forgot existed.

The Right Class For You

Hatha Yoga- A branch of yoga which concentrates on physical health and mental well-being. Hatha yoga uses bodily postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation (dyana) with the goal of bringing about a sound, healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind. There are nearly 200 hatha yoga postures, with hundreds of variations, which work to make the spine supple and to promote circulation in all the organs, glands, and tissues. Hatha yoga postures also stretch and align the body, promoting balance and flexibility.

Gentle Yoga-

While you still stretch your muscle and work your joints, you’re not pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. This differs from other types of yoga which promote stretching into sometimes uncomfortable or difficult positions.

Gentle yoga not only acts as a beginning step into more challenging forms of yoga but it also works as a way of working muscles and joints in a way that avoids the risk of injury. This is perfect for anyone suffering from mobility issues, has an injury, needs to warm up very gradually.

Vinyasa Flow-

The word “vinyasa” can be translated as “arranging something in a special way,” like yoga poses for example. In vinyasa yoga classes, students coordinate movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next. Vinyasa Flow refers to the way this style keeps you moving from asana to asana, linking each pose to an inhale and an exhale.

The Instructor keeps the flow of movements smooth and continuous, which can help you stay present during the session. If you find your mind wandering off in the down-time between poses or sequences, Vinyasa yoga is for you.

Candle Light Yoga- ALL LEVELS-Slow Flow Gentle/Restorative

In a Candlelit Room

You will enjoy a peaceful and relaxing candlelit room as you move from one gentle pose (asana) to the next. A perfect way to unwind after a busy day or busy week. This warm, dynamic class encompasses a flow to warm and stretch the body with an emphasis on deep juicy hip openers.

A well deserved meditative svasana to spiritually conclude the practice. Available to all levels and to those looking to deepen and strengthen their practice. Creating space to broaden the flow of balance with ease through your mind body and soul.
